VELEZ MALAGA - Mobile phone companies will not be allowed to install their antennas on the roofs of buildings in Velez. The Town Hall will be modifying the municipal ordinance regarding telephone antennas so that it is in accordance with what the municipal PGOU states about antennas of this nature. There are currently contradictions between them, as the municipal ordinance permits these antennas to be installed, but the PGOU states that nothing can be authorized on the roof of a building that has already filled its height quota.

NERJA - March 17th to March 26th is the period allocated for applications for the seasonal kiosks in Nerja. As of this year, applicants must have five years residence in Nerja and may not be receiving a retirement pension. This year there are 23 kiosks available, three more than last year. It will be Social Services who decide what the preference order is to be if more than one person requests the same location. If there are more applicants than kiosks available, the remaining people will be put in a waiting list.

Councilor denies rise in Nerja hotel prices |

NERJA - The Councilor for Tourism, Jose Miguel Garcia, has refuted data published in the media referring to a ‘Hotels Price Index’ (HPI) which claims that hotel prices in Nerja rose by 25 per cent from 2008 to 2009. The Councillor stresses that data collected by the Council shows an average rise of only 8.02 per cent. He added that most hotels maintained the same rates or instigated a small rise, although one 3 star hotel did actually increase its prices more significantly.
