Spanish Translation & Tuition

Moving to a foreign country is not as easy as it seems. Its hard when you dont speak the language and even harder if you find yourself in a stressful situation or an emergency.

This I know first hand because I have lived in Spain for 30 years and when I came over at the tender age of 18 I had no clue! Through making a lot of mistakes and just getting “out there” and trying to speak Spanish I finally became fluent and realised there was a great need for Spanish speaking aid.

There is a large community of British people living in this area that have spent years saving for the time when they can retire, have a little holiday home, or start up their dream business in a sunny climate by the sea. There are so many hidden pitfalls and that is what prompted me to begin my translating and interpreting business Simply Solved.

My experience spans many areas and many years. I have worked most of my life in Barcelona interpreting at the Convention Centre, for the Barcelona Football Club and for the BBC during the year it took to set up and during the broadcasting of the the 1992 Olympic Games.

After Barcelona I moved to Tarragona and worked for two years in San Juan de Reus State Hospital for an independant Medical Company and that experience has led me to specialise in medical visits.

In this day and age there is rising crime, it can happen to anyone so it is so important to be able to call someone to accompany you to the Police Station and look after you from the moment the crime takes place. It is a daunting experience without the added problem of not understanding the language.

I pride myself in never having to let a client down as I have a very good relationship with other extremely recommendable interpreters in the area and never hesitate to call on them if I am already occupied.

My job is very satisfying and I have gained a lot of good friends amongst the clients that I have worked with time and time again. For any youngsters out there who have been born in Spain or spent their informative years here, I would highly recommend Interpreting as a career Choice.
